Elizabeth “Betsey” Carlisle Beasley, M.P.A., J.D.<\/strong>
Attorney at Law & Registered Mediator<\/em><\/p>

Elizabeth “Betsey” Carlisle Beasley is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a longtime resident of Bulloch County. She attended Georgia Southern University, where she earned her B.S. in Sociology\/Social Work (1993) and her Master of Public Administration (1997). She later graduated from Savannah Law School and passed the Georgia Bar in 2017. As an undergraduate, Betsey studied education at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and as a law student, she studied European Union and International Corporate Law in Venice, Italy through a program with Vanderbilt Law School.<\/p>

Before attending law school in her early forties, Betsey built a diverse career rooted in social work and public administration. She served as a Child Protective Services worker with the Department of Family and Children Services and later as a mental health professional and prevention specialist with a community mental health service board. She eventually started her own business in Statesboro, Georgia, establishing an education center called Conner’s Place in honor of her late son. There, she provided community programming for individuals and organizations at the local, state, and federal levels, including a state-certified family violence intervention program and a Georgia-licensed driving school.<\/p>

After twenty years in community intervention and prevention work, Betsey decided to follow in the footsteps of the Carlisle men and become the first woman in the family to practice law. Her preferred areas of practice include state and federal criminal law, bad faith insurance claims, civil disputes, workers’ compensation, and contract law. Having facilitated thousands of community education sessions over two decades with people ranging from age 2 to 95, becoming a registered mediator felt like a natural addition to her practice. Betsey’s passion for the law is matched only by her love for her children\u2014Terry, Jr., Abby, Ansley, and Brandon\u2014her grandchildren, Mila and Jefferson Conner (J.C.), and her husband, Terry, Sr.<\/p>
